After the great success of the Stoos Stampede in July I think it is good to keep the momentum going.
There are Stoos Satellites springing up all over the globe to keep the flame alive on a local level. Some of us are intending to continue the conversation during LESS2012.
But I want to organise a different kind of event in January.
An event to broaden horizons and be inspired. There are many different change initiatives that have a vision that is compatible with Stoos. Agile, Betacodex, Beyond Budgeting, Holocracy, Sociocracy, WorldBlu and probably a few I am not aware of. And there are already quite a few success stories and not-yet-success stories.
But instead of having all those talks spread out over 5 different tracks I am looking at a Lightning Talk/Ignite/TEDx type event where everyone listens to the same 5-20 minute presentations with plenty of breaks for discussions.
Location will be somewhere in the Netherlands. Probably in Amsterdam, but maybe closer to Germany to make it easier for Europeans to travel.
So my questions are:
- Would you be interested in attending?
- Who should I invite to talk? What topics do you want to hear more about?
- Do you have a success or not-yet-success story to share?
- Can you help out organising?
Leave a comment here or contact me on Twitter or LinkedIn. I am really looking forward to hearing your ideas and suggestions.

Would like helping organize next stoos event.
What about stoos turnaroundabout
Your post resonates with me. Makes sense to try varying event formats within the Stoos movement, and I have seen excellent events that have been inspired by the TED format. I would definitely be interested in attending and in being a part of it beyond that!
I think you can already guess some of my answers, but here we go:
- Would you be interested in attending?
Definitely!!
- Who should I invite to talk? What topics do you want to hear more about?
A diverse crowd would be best, some of the thought leaders, some people that have already tried implementing or have actually implemented it. And what would be even better is to also have some people that are working in a stoosian managed environment to share their experiences.
I like the idea of the TED style event very much and am already thinking of a topic. But maybe a combined event would be even better. A few hours of TED style talks in the morning and then some free format sessions like at the stampede.
- Do you have a success or not-yet-success story to share?
I can think of a few, the story will need some grooming and practicing but I would love to contribute.
- Can you help out organising?
Count me in!
Why not call it Stoos365? It’s Stoos’ birthday in January, if I’m not mistaken.

What I’d like to see is a management reflection/brainstorming session for “where are we now”, “how did we get here”, and “how can we better engage people.”
